DrishtiOps · operated by SSN TechSphere · effective September 2026 · app v1.9
DrishtiOps has two parts. The mobile app (Android, and iOS via the web) is for the people on site. The web console at this address is for managers and owners. Both show the same data. Pick your role below.
Getting started
Install the app
- Your organisation gives you the Android APK file directly, or a link to it. It is not on the Play Store yet.
- Open the file. If Android asks, allow installing from this source.
- Open DrishtiOps. Allow camera and location when asked. Without the camera you cannot record evidence; without location your check-ins are marked “could not be checked”.
- On iPhone, open the web console in Safari instead. The camera works there too.
There are two ways, and your organisation tells you which applies to you.
- Employee number and PIN. Tap Sign in with employee number. The first time, tap First time? I have a setup code, enter the code your supervisor gave you, then choose a PIN. Keep the PIN private. Repeated wrong attempts lock the account for a while.
- Email and password. Managers and owners usually sign in this way. Tap Forgot password? to get a reset link by email.
Join an organisation
- If you created your own account, you are not in an organisation yet. The home screen says Not in an Organisation.
- Tap Open Profile to Join, find your organisation and send a join request.
- Enter your date of birth if asked. It is required by law before you can be enrolled, and the app refuses anyone under 18.
- A supervisor or manager approves the request. You will see your tasks once they do.
If your supervisor added you to a crew roster, you may instead be shown a QR code on site: scan it and tap your own name to claim your place.
Choose your language
Tap your profile and pick English, Hindi, Bengali or Odia. Task instructions and notices follow your choice where a translation exists.
Roles
| Role | Does |
|---|---|
| Worker | Checks in, does tasks, records evidence, raises problems and procurement requests. |
| Supervisor | Leads one or more crews. Approves join requests and procurement at crew level, handles blocked tasks, can check workers in on a crew device. |
| Manager | Runs one or more sites. Creates tasks, teams and assets, approves worker-raised tasks, decides escalations and procurement, exports reports. |
| Owner (super manager) | Runs the organisation. Everything a manager does, plus sites, roles, external access, legal exports, evidence health and organisation settings. |
| Observer / Inspector / Auditor | External, read-only, time-limited access to specific sites. |
Workers
Start your shift
- Open the app. The home screen greets you and shows My Tasks.
- Tap Check In. Stand where you have sky above you if you can. The app records the time and whether you are inside the site boundary.
- If you have no signal, you still see Checked in. Saved on this phone. It sends itself later.
- At the end of the day tap Check Out. If you forget, the shift is closed automatically with no departure time, and the hours are left blank rather than guessed.
Do a task
- Tap a task in My Tasks to open it. Read the instruction. If it shows a gear icon it was machine-translated; if it shows a globe it could not be translated and you should ask your supervisor to explain it.
- Tap Start Task.
- When done, tap Mark Complete. Take a photo of the finished work with the in-app camera. You cannot pick one from your gallery; that is deliberate. Add a note if useful. Tap Done.
- You see Completion + photo queued if offline. It will show as sent, then as under review if a manager needs to look at it.
When you cannot continue
- Open the task and tap Flag as Blocked.
- Pick a category (for example missing material, unsafe condition, waiting on someone) and describe the problem in a few words. Both are required so the right person is told.
- The app tells you who has it. Tap Tap to see who has it at any time. You are told when it is cleared.
Report a problem or raise a task
- Tap Report a problem on the home screen to raise a task yourself. It goes to your supervisor or manager for review. You can start on it while they review it if the site allows.
- Turn on Emergency only for a genuine safety or stoppage emergency and pick the reason. Emergency tasks reach the manager immediately and cannot be muted. Follow an emergency with a phone call.
Ask for materials or equipment
- Tap Request Procurement. Enter the item, quantity and unit, and how urgent it is. Link it to a task if it is for one.
- It goes to your supervisor, then to a manager. You can see which stage it is at and what happens next.
Notices, alerts and messages
- Notices are announcements from your organisation. A badge shows how many are new.
- Alerts are your notifications: new tasks, escalations, decisions on your requests.
- Chat has a channel for your organisation, one for your site, and direct messages.
Your work record
My work record on the home screen shows your completed work and attendance. It is yours. Tap Share to make a link you can send to a future employer. Nobody in your organisation can see the links you make or look you up by name. You can revoke a link at any time.
Your data and your account
- Your profile has My data: everything held about you, and the privacy notice in your language.
- You can delete your account from your profile. Your name, photos and phone are deleted. The attendance register keeps a nameless entry for five years because the law requires it; the Privacy Policy explains this.
- To raise a grievance, use the route in My data. It goes to someone who is not the subject of it.
Supervisors
- Your crews. Teams shows the crews you lead. Tap a crew to see its members and their tasks for today.
- Join requests. Approve or reject workers asking to join. You will need their date of birth if it is missing.
- Crew roster and QR enrolment. Add workers by name, phone and date of birth, then show the QR code on site so each worker claims their own place. A worker with no smartphone can be marked crew device only; you record their attendance for them.
- Crew device check-in. On a shared phone, check workers in on their behalf. The record shows that you pressed the button and that the location is yours, not theirs.
- Blocked tasks. A block raised by your worker comes to you first. Open it, fix the cause or pass it up, then clear it. The worker is told.
- Procurement. Requests from your crew reach you first. Approve them to send them to a manager, or reject with a reason. You cannot approve your own request.
- Complete on behalf. If a worker cannot record a completion, you can do it for them from the task. The record shows it was on their behalf.
Managers
Set up a site
- In the console, Sites → Create Site. Give it a name and region.
- Set the geofence (centre and radius) so check-ins and photos can be checked against it. Without one, every location verdict is “could not be checked”.
- Create teams under the site and pick a supervisor for each.
- Add assets (equipment and plant) so tasks can be linked to them.
Create and assign tasks
- Tasks → New Task. Give a clear title and instruction, a site, a team or a worker, a priority and a due time.
- Pick a category. High-risk categories (electrical, work at height, confined space, hot work, lifting) are never machine-translated; check the worker can read the instruction.
- Attach a reference photo if it helps. It is kept 30 days after the task closes.
- Tasks you create are approved automatically. Tasks workers raise appear in Approvals.
Review and approve
- Approvals lists worker-raised tasks waiting for a decision. Approve, reject with a reason, or, if the work has already started, record a disposition: authorised retrospectively, or not authorised with the record kept. Nothing a worker recorded is ever deleted by a rejection.
- Organisations can switch to triage mode, where worker reports are accepted immediately and reviewed afterwards. Ask your owner.
Escalations
A block that a supervisor cannot clear escalates to you, then to the owner. Every escalation names a real person and the reason it went to them. Clear it from the task when the cause is fixed; the worker who raised it is told automatically. If nobody eligible can be found, the escalation is marked undeliverable and every owner is alerted.
Procurement decisions
Requests approved by a supervisor reach you. Approve, reject, or acknowledge with a promised decision date. An acknowledged request re-alerts you and the requester when that date passes. You cannot decide a request you raised yourself.
Reports and exports
- Reports exports task history, the muster roll and the statutory registers as CSV or PDF. Links expire after an hour.
- Site Health shows blocked and overdue counts, active workers and evidence problems per site.
- Analytics shows completion, on-time and escalation trends. On-time is measured against the original due date, so extending a due date does not improve it.
- Activity Log is the audit trail: who changed what, when, and why where a reason was given.
Owners
- Organisation and roles. Create job roles and assign a manager to each. Invite managers and supervisors by email from Teams or Settings.
- External access. Grant an inspector, observer or auditor read-only access to specific sites and categories for a fixed period (30 days by default, 90 at most). You are told when it is first used. Revoke at any time. Every view is logged.
- Legal Export. Build an Evidence Pack for a task, site or date range. It contains the original photographs, hashes, audit trail, capture records and a verifier script. Cite the content digest, not the file name. The certificate is a draft until your lawyer has reviewed the template.
- Evidence Health. A nightly review flags patterns that might indicate fabricated evidence: duplicate photographs, gallery images, clock skew, repeated geofence failures. Every finding carries the innocent explanation beside it. Nothing is blocked; you decide.
- Legal hold. A manager can place a hold on records relevant to a claim; only you can release it. Held records survive their retention period.
- Notification settings. Per-type channels, quiet hours and digests. Emergency notifications cannot be muted by anyone.
- Review mode. Choose pre-approval (workers wait for approval before starting) or triage (work starts, review follows) per organisation.
- Suspension. If your subscription lapses the organisation may be suspended. Members are blocked from the app and console until it is reactivated; nothing is deleted.
Inspectors, observers and auditors
- You receive an email invitation from an organisation owner. Sign in with the email and password you set.
- Your home screen lists the sites you have been granted. You can see tasks and, depending on the grant, photographs, attendance and the audit trail.
- Photographs shown to you have precise location and handset details removed.
- Your access ends on the expiry date shown, or earlier if revoked. Every view and export you make is logged and visible to the organisation.

Working without signal
- The app keeps working. Check-ins, task starts, completions with photos, blocks and procurement requests are saved on the phone and sent when signal returns. The top of the screen shows the connection state and how many items are waiting.
- Photos are encrypted on the phone while they wait. Do not uninstall the app or wipe the phone with items waiting; they exist nowhere else.
- An item that cannot be sent is shown as failed with a reason and one thing to try. Dismissing it stops the retries but never deletes a photograph.
- If a manager changed the same task while you were offline, your change goes under review and a manager chooses between the two versions. Both are kept.
- On a Wi-Fi-only setting, photos wait for Wi-Fi; everything else sends on mobile data.
What the icons mean
| Icon | Meaning |

| ⚙ gear beside text | Machine-translated. Usually fine; ask if unsure. |
| 🌐 globe beside text | Not translated. Shown in English. Ask your supervisor. |
| Green / amber / red dot on a task | On track / due soon or blocked / overdue or emergency. |
| Cloud with number | Items waiting to send. |
| “Could not be checked” | Location was unavailable. It is not “outside”. |
Problems and questions
The camera does not open
Android Settings → Apps → DrishtiOps → Permissions → Camera → Allow. On some phones the camera is also blocked while another app is using it; close that app.
My check-in says “could not be checked”
Location was unavailable, usually indoors or under structures. It is recorded honestly as unchecked, not as outside. Enable location for the app and, if it matters, ask your supervisor to attest your attendance with a reason.
I do not get notifications
Some phones (Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Realme) stop apps in the background. The app shows a walkthrough for your phone under Alerts → battery settings. Allow autostart and turn off battery optimisation for DrishtiOps. Emergencies may also come by SMS where your organisation has enabled it.
I forgot my PIN or password
PIN: ask your supervisor for a new setup code. Password: Forgot password? on the sign-in screen.
My task list is empty
If you just joined, wait for approval. If you have no signal the last known list is shown; if the list cannot load you see an error with a retry, never a blank “no tasks”.
I lost my phone
Sign in on another device, open your profile and revoke the lost device. Or ask a manager to. Once the phone next reaches a network it is signed out and its waiting data is wiped except for unsent evidence, which is kept encrypted until it can be sent.
The Hindi looks wrong
Tell your supervisor. If it is a high-risk task, the phrase came from a reviewed library and the reviewer needs to know. If it is an ordinary task it was machine-translated and the supervisor should explain it in person.
